EduMatSains Journal is an official publication of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Kristen Indonesia, first published in 2016. EduMatSains Journal is an online scientific journal that publishes articles or scholarly works resulting from research in the fields of mathematics education and science education (physics, chemistry, biology), as well as mathematics and the natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology).
This statement of publication ethics represents the code of ethics for all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely the publisher, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. The Publication Ethics Code upholds three core ethical values in publication:
(i) Neutrality, meaning freedom from conflicts of interest in managing publications;
(ii) Fairness, meaning granting authorship rights to those who are entitled to be recognized as authors; and
(iii) Honesty, meaning freedom from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publication.
The publisher of EduMatSains Journal is responsible for publishing manuscripts that have undergone editing, review, and layout processes in accordance with the journal’s publication standards.
The publisher is responsible for ensuring academic freedom for editors and peer reviewers in carrying out their respective duties.
The publisher is responsible for maintaining privacy, protecting intellectual property and copyright, and upholding editorial independence.
The editors of EduMatSains Journal are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are eligible for publication through editorial board meetings, with reference to applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism. To detect plagiarism, the software Plagiarism CheckerX (http://plagiarism-checker-x.en.softonic.com/) is used.
In the review and acceptance process, the editorial team adheres to the principle of equal treatment in making publication decisions, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political ideology of the authors.
Editors and the editorial team will not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts except with the permission of the authors.
Unpublished manuscripts will not be used by the editors for their own research purposes and will be returned directly to the authors.
Peer reviewers assist the editors in making editorial decisions regarding submitted manuscripts.
Peer reviewers are responsible for the recommendations they provide on the manuscripts they review.
Manuscript reviews must be conducted objectively and supported by clear arguments.
Peer reviewers are responsible for identifying issues related to citations, references, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism in the manuscripts they review.
Peer reviewers must maintain confidentiality of information and must not use information obtained from reviewed manuscripts for personal advantage.
Authors must present their research or scholarly work clearly, honestly, and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, or plagiarism.
Authors are responsible for the accuracy and validity of the content submitted in their manuscripts.
Authors must properly acknowledge and cite the opinions and works of others.
Authors must prepare manuscripts ethically, honestly, and responsibly, in accordance with applicable scientific writing standards.
Authors agree that their manuscripts may undergo editorial revisions without altering the substance or main ideas of the work.
